Hekaton Coin Drop x2 Event

Dear Maplers,

We have had a rather rocky and tempestuous Hekaton battle ever since the Kingdom of Kritias reappeared in Maple World. One by one, our heroes unawaringly fell victim to an unrelenting enemy fearsomely known as “The Dreaded Disconnection”. The appearance of this unwanted intruder was reported to the higher authorities, and a long and ugly battle ensued between the monstrous invader and our troops.

More heroes were deployed to bring Hekaton to it’s defeat, but to no avail. It appeared that The Dreaded Disconnection was in cahoots with Hekaton. The Dark Mage’s forces must be stopped! Even fearless heroes fell prey to the new ally that Hekaton found. From information gathered, each of them were stopped in their tracks mid-battle and thrown out of Maple World. “No! This cannot happen! We must defeat Hekaton!” exclaimed Brundel. Battle after battle ensued, and still the heroes were seized and transported out of Maple World by force.

Finally after 3 long months of endless studies and experiments, the authorities discovered a way to banish the monster. Traps were put in place to capture it, and the defence of Kritias Kingdom was strengthened on November 5th, 2014 with the assistance of higher beings from the magical city of Nexon. Heroes who arose to the challenge to defeat Hekaton noticed that the intruder seems to have quietened down, but nevertheless, one cannot be too sure. We must stay vigilant and work together in making sure that it doesn’t reappear again and attack our heroes!

To repay the tired and weary heroes who so diligently and tirelessly battled Hekaton over the times in spite of all the difficulties and challenges that they faced, the MapleSEA administrators have prepared a special event as a token of apology and appreciation for the heroes’ long term support and kind patience :

Hekaton Coin Drop x2 Event image

Duration : 19th – 25th November 2014 (one week)

Mechanics : When you complete the Hekaton Battle, the amount of coins that you receive will be doubled.

• Hekaton battle is available 7 times a day, every hour from 1700hrs (GMT +8).

A word of caution; as it is unknown whether the banished terror will ever be able to set foot in the Royal Palace of Kritias, all heroes are urged to report any new sightings so that measures can be taken to tackle the problem from resurfacing.

Happy Mapling!

MapleSEA EXP Stacking Guide

$
0
0
maplestory_25th_anniversary
I always want to use the minimum amount of time to gain the maximum amount of EXP.
The EXP gained per kill seems to play an important role but I would say it’s only 50%, or even less in some scenarios. If you take half the average time to clear a round of monster park, you’d effectively increase your EXP rate by 100%.
Edit: New multiplier information updated. Refer to end of post.
Other factors like mobility, damage, mobbing ability of your skills and lastly, the amount of real currency you’re willing to put in, contribute to the leveling speed greatly.
But in this entry, I will only be going through the EXP factor, mainly on the sources of bonus EXP and how they can be stacked.
If any of the information I’ve provided is false or outdated, kindly correct me(or laugh/criticise/flame/troll/bullshit whatever you like). All the information are mainly from the calculations and observations I have made during my past few years of adventures in MapleStory.
Types of EXP Boost
There are 2 types of EXP boost.
> Multiplier of the base EXP.
> Percentage of the EXP after applying Multiplier.
The base EXP would be the EXP values shown in white.
The Multiplier type directly multiplies the the base EXP by an amount.
The Percentage type adds a percentage of the EXP after applying the Multipliers to your EXP gain, also the EXP values shown in yellow.
EXP Stacking
I’ve separated the different sources of EXP into 8 groups.
Group 1:
> EXP Coupon – 1.2x from CashShop
> EXP Coupon – 1.5x from CashShop
> EXP Coupon – 2.0x from CashShop
> EXP Coupon – 3.0x from CashShop
Group 2:
> Happy Winter – 1.2x for 60 minutes
> Enjoyable Winter – 1.5x for 30 minutes
> Legend Coupon – 1.5x for 30 minutes
> Rest Coupon – 1.3x for 60 minutes
> System Event – 1.5x
> System Event – 2.0x
> System Event – 3.0x (MapleSEA from 0000 to 0015 on 1st Jan 2013)
> Family Rep EXP Boost – 1.2x (2000 points for 30 minutes, 900 points for 15 minutes)
> Family Rep EXP Boost – 1.5x (3000 points for 30 minutes)
Group 3:
> Holy Symbol – 1.5x, lasts up to 3 minutes per buff
Group 4:
> Fairy Pendant – Up to 30% (+10% per hour starting from the time of equip)
Group 5:
> Premium Coupon – 20% from CashShop, lasts 7 days
Group 6:
> EXP Boost Potion – 10% for 120 minutes
Group 7:
> Elven Blessing – 10% to 15% (Mercedes Link Skill)
Group 8:
> Guild Skill, Banner of Experience – 2% to 10%
You’re able to stack 1 from each group. Having 2 of the same group will either have the higher rate in effect or the latest buff used(usually overwrites any existing buffs of the same group).
If you take the highest from each group, not taking the 3x System Event since it’s uncommon,
Multiplier Types: 2.0x, 2.0x, 1.5x (Total 6.0x)
Percentage Types: 30%, 20%, 10%, 15% (Total +75%)
If the monster’s EXP is 1,000,
You will be receiving 6,000 + 4,500 EXP per kill. That’s like 10.5x the original EXP!
Update:
After the recent updates, I’m not quite sure where the percentage EXP are taking from. It’s observed to only take from the base EXP instead of the total so the above EXP gained example is not true. Stacking wise, it should still stands.
04 April 2014 Update:
Found this somewhere and thought I would update it here.
EXP Multipliers
1. Server 2x stacks with 2x Coupon and makes it 4x
2. If you have Holy Symbol, it will become 6x
3. If you have Kanna’s “Kishin Shoukan” it literally adds another 35-45%, depending on your killing speed
4. Elven blessing is FIXED at 15%
5. Fairy pendant is FIXED at 30% (Max)
6. Welcome Back Ring mule is FIXED at 80%
7. Experience Accumulation Potion is FIXED at 10%
8. Enjoyable Winter & other free EXP buffs DO NOT stack with server 2x
Current maximum EXP Multiplier would be
3x EXP Coupon
Holy Symbol
2x EXP Server Event
Premium Coupon
Elven Blessing
Fairy Pendant
Welcome Back Mule
EXP Accumulation Potion
Banner of Experience
Petit Orchid
(3 x 1.5 x 2) + (0.2 + 0.15 + 0.3 + 0.8 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.03) = 10.6
02 June 2013 Update
+ Added Level 2 Elven Blessing
29 July 2013 Update
+ Added EXP Coupon – 3.0x
+ Added Family Rep EXP Boost – 1.5x
+ Added Guild Skill, Banner of Experience
03 August 2013 Update
+ Added Rest Coupon – 1.3x
04 April 2014 Update
+ Added a More Accurate List

MapleSEA Herbs and Veins locations

$
0
0
After wandering around in the Maple world, I found the following pattern for herbs and veins locations.

First of all, what determines which herbs and veins are in a map are the level(s) of the monster(s) in those map, split in 3 level ranges. If there are monsters of different ranges, the highest range is used.

Level 1-29: No herbs and veins are spawned.

Level 30-99: Which herbs and veins are spawned depends on the last number of the monster's level. For example: 30 → 0, 35 → 5, 39 → 9, 89 → 9 ect.

Then use the following table: Number Herbs and Veins color

0,1 Silver & Magenta
2,3 Blue & Brown
4,5 Emerald & Gold
6,7 Aquamarine & Red
8,9 Black & Purple

• If there are multiple monsters in the map, herbs and veins for all those monsters are spawned. If the levels of the monsters results in herbs and veins of non-adjacent color, all colors between are also spawned.
For example, in a map spawning level 81 and 84 monsters, the herbs and veins that are spawned are: Silver & Magenta (from lvl 81 monsters), Emerald & Gold (from lvl 84 monsters) and Blue & Brown because it's in between.

Level 100-200: All these maps spawn Emerald, Gold, Aquamarine, Red, Black and Purple herbs and veins, regardless of level.

Sometimes there are less herb and vein spots than allowed herbs and veins, so it is possible you won't find a Purple Vein in the first level 100+ map you enter, but you'll encounter them in other channels.

Heartstones and Golden Flowers are spawned randomly in any map where herbs and veins spawn, albeit with a very low rate.

In this table you can see which ores/seeds/flowers drops from which herbs/veins:

Color - Ores  - Flowers & Seeds
Silver - Silver & Opal - Marjoram
Magenta - Orihalcon & Amethyst - Lavender
Blue - Steel & Sapphire - Rosemary
Brown - Bronze & Adamantium - Mandarin
Emerald - Mithril, Emerald & DEX Crystal - Lemon Balm & Peppermint
Gold - Gold & Topaz - Jasmine
Aquamarine - Aquamarine & Diamond - Tea Tree
Red - Garnet & Power Crystal - Chamomile
Black - Black Crystal & Dark Crystal - Patchouli
Purple - Litium, LUK Crystal & Wisdom Crystal - Juniper & Hissop

Welcome Back Venshi

Hi Maplers,
Does the name GM Venshi ring any bells? For those of you who has been with us since 2010, his name should sound familiar. Well, guess what? Venshi’s back!
Instead of being a GM, Venshi is now the Community Leader for MapleSEA. Check out Venshi’s Facebook page <https://www.facebook.com/TeamVenshi>, and give it a “Like”!
Although still going by the moniker GM Venshi, he is NOT part of the GM Team. However, you will be able to catch a glimpse of his ingame character during his travels around Maple World while he chills and relaxes with the Maple community in game.
That being said, we would like to respectfully remind everyone that all account-related issues must still be reported via IBox and not through our GMs or CMs.
We trust that Venshi will bring more fun and laughter to the overall community as a whole, and we look forward to an improved gaming experience for everyone!
Should you have any suggestions or feedback, feel free to poke Venshi on Facebook. We will be more than happy to listen to all of them.
On behalf of Venshi, and the rest of the MapleSEA Team, have a good time Mapling!
-MapleSEA Administrator.

Eunwol, The Forgotten Hero

image

Back in Maple’s past, in a era long forgotten by the sands of time, there were 6 brave heroes – Luminous, Mercedes, Phantom, Evan, Eunwol and Aran. They were very close friends and comrades in battle, although Phantom was known to have an attitude. Together, they protected Maple World against the forces of evil.

image

As fate would have it, the Black Mage invaded the Temple of Time and stole the powers of Rhinne, the Transcendence of Time, for himself. The six legendary heroes battled with all their might against the Black Mage, but were no match for him. Finally, Freud told of a Great Seal Spell, but in order for this powerful seal to work, it required a great sacrifice. At first, Freud said that the sacrifice would have to be him, but Luminous insisted that he was the one to do it. Eunwol intervened, saying that of all the heroes who were there, he was the best candidate as he had no family nor anyone that cares about him. So it was Eunwol who made the ultimate sacrifice in order to seal the Black Mage away.

image
Fast forward hundreds of years later, Eunwol wakes up in a strange town where all the inhabitants looked like little fox people known as Animas. This was thePointy Fox Village on the planet of Vulpes. He is discovered by Moonbeam and her friends, who thought he was a funny looking creature with no ears and tail. Moonbeam and Eunwol soon became close friends. She brought him to visit the statue of the Fox God, and told him to make a wish. It was there that Eunwol gained the power of the spirits, a special power which everyone in the Village has. Eventually Eunwol managed to make his way to Maple World, but he discovered that things were not as what they were before. What seemed to him to be a year, was really a few centuries gone by. No one could remember his name, nor recognize him. It was as though Eunwol had never existed. He later found out that during their battle with the Black Mage, Freud had died from his injuries while the rest of the heroes were cursed and encased in ice. None of the heroes had any memory of who he was. Convinced that it was not a prank played on him, Eunwol was determined to find out the truth, and to lift the curse that has befallen Maple World. Eunwol set out to walk his own path, alone…

Join Eunwol as he journeys through Maple World and faces great perils and danger in his way. Will he succeed in his quest? Only YOU hold the key to his triumph!

Introducing Eunwol!
image

I did this with my Cannon Shooter not one week ago. I started around 7pm on a Thursday and with sleep dinner rest etc. etc., leveled to level 70 on Friday at 10pm.
This is how i did it.
Level 1-30: Complete ALL Cannon Shooter Quests until you kill King Clang
Level 30-36: Finish ALL Mushroom Kingdom Quests until you receive the medal
Level 36-50: Use Level-Up Potion, CD’s at Kerning Square and some Ludibrium PQ
Level 50-55: Drakes
Level55-63: Robo
Level 63-66: Zeta Grey
Level 66-70: Sand Rats
Item buffs used: The daily 1hour 1.5x coupons given by Maple Admin.
Level70-81: Use Level-Up Potion lol
And i stopped here because i only wanted the Link Skill from Cannon Shooters for my other characters.

HP required to Boss

I created this list to provide information for maplers especially Dual Bladerssince we’re melee characters but with low survivability. This list is based onPost-BigBang information.
This list is the HP required to tank bosses as a Melee character. As a Ranged character however, as long as you have at least 15,000HP with HB, you will be able to tank all bosses including Pink Bean, Chaos Horntail and Chaos Zakum.
For Dual Bladers:
Due to the fact that BBP screwed up our avoid, it is best to assume that we are melee characters until Chaos Patch comes out where we have Phantom Blow which allows us to attack at a certain distance from the bosses which would make us half-melee-half-ranged (is there such a thing?). So once Chaos hits, and our avoid goes back to the Pre-BB state, all of us need about at least 15,000HP with HB.
How to get that much HP?
Wear %HP equipment such as Rex Earrings (10% HP), Chaos HT Neck (10% HP), and Chaos Zakum Helm (10% HP) and our new skill, Shadow Resistance which adds 10% HP. Dont forget that when running major boss runs, there will always be a Dark Knight there to share his/her Hyper Body (+60% HP) and if you have Decent Hyper Body skill from an equipment, it would add +40% HP (does not stack with DK’s HB).
So right there you already have +80% HP (with DHB) or +90% HP (with DK’s HB)
I shall quote what i had previously commented on one of my posts which is based on my theory:
To tank almost any boss, being a melee, you’ll need at least 26,000HP to be safe. (This is without Threaten) 26k HP to tank Pink Bean and Chaos Horntail touch damages. For other bosses, at least 16,000HP would be fine. With Shadow Resistance, CZHelm, CHTNeck and Rex Earring, you will gain about 40% extra HP. So thats 1.4% additional HP.
Lets say you want 26,000HP. We’re reaching for the stars here.
26,000 HP / 1.4 = 18,571 HP (base)
But you have to remember that when you enter such bossing, you will have a DK. So that adds an additional 60% HP. So again, we devide base HP with 1.6%.
18,571 HP / 1.6 = 11,607HP (base) - You still need to HP wash. Why?
Currently my Dual Blade only has about 9,000HP (base. Including rings, medal, katara HP and some +HP equipments. -not %HP equipments) And i washed my DB about – let me check… 141 times. I double washed 80 times and single washed 41 times. So, in my opinion, you’ll still have to HP wash if you want to fight Pink Bean and Chaos Horntail.
But for other bosses, 16,000HP would be sufficient.
16,000 HP / 1.4 (your % equips) = 11,428 HP.
But with HB, you’ll need:
11,428 HP / 1.6 (60% HP increase from HB) = 7,142HP (base). You would not need to HP wash unless you plan to go bossing at an earlier level. More HP wouldnt hurt, IMO. But i suggest you calculate the rate of increase of HP per level, (From level e.g. 20-21 and see how much you gain, (lets say 40HP).
What you do is you take your Desired HP – [40HP x (desired level – current level)] and you’ll get the balance. That balance is what you’ll need from HP washing or more HP equipments.
Cyanne of GMS mentioned that everyone only needs 15,001 HP to survive Pink Bean regarding damage reflect only reflecting from a range of 5,000 – 15,000 damage. This is what she said:
This means that if you want to guarantee survival at pink bean, you’ll need 15001hp, or 9376hp before hyperbody. Either that or you can attack exclusively for the 40 seconds in between casts (20-second timer, 40 seconds before the next cast). Keep in mind the hp requirement includes any attacking archmage (or bishop lol) due to the fact that the skill ignores magic guard. Now stop asking how much hp you need to survive pink bean and have fun throwing thousands of dollars into Nexon’s wallet that could be used to help hundreds of starving people in poverty.
If there are any other askance on HP required for certain Bosses not listed here, do comment so i can add it in.
